Nice post. I see this becoming a more and more viable option for lawyers. Large law firms with huge committees just cannot be as nimble as smaller, more mobile, more responsive firms. Another advantage is that when a clinet has a need outside the attorney's area of expertise, small firms have the luxury of referring the client to the best attorney for the job, as opposed to keeping the client "in house" at all costs.
